Conversions! Aug 29th

Today in class we went over conversions! We learned that there is a certain way to set up and solve the conversions. It is easier to do it this way so all of our work stays organized! This is very important for Chemistry, it will make the math easier to figure out! Some examples of conversion factors: 1 liter to 100 cL= a conversion factor 24 hours to 1 day= a conversion factor One example of an easy conversion is: 1daL=______ cL It is difficult to set it up correctly on the iPad. However, you would make a chart and solve it that way. The answer you should get is 1000cL Then we learned a bit harder conversions such as: 3.2*10^7pm= ________ mm You would again use the chart, and get the answer 3.2*10^-2mm Homework: 20.) 882*10^-6g 21.) 0.0603*10^-3mL 23.) a.) 92.25*10^3k B.) 92.25*10^-2c 38.) a.) 4 B.) 1 C.) 6 D.) 3 None of these answers match the answers on the sheet, but I did them like we did in class!

  1. I'd really like to know how you got these answers, because it seemed that when I did it how I thought she did it on the board, I got wild answers that are probably wrong...
